The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair announced yesterday that it has set a traffic record with a total of 9,000,000 passengers in August 2013.
So in August 2013, its traffic increased by 1% compared to August 2012 with 9,000,000 passengers. It is the first company in Europe to have carried as many passengers in a month. Its annual traffic until the end of August rose 2% to 80 million passengers. Ryanair and displays a filling which rose 1% to 89%.
"Ryanair carried more than 9 million passengers in August 2013, making it the first European airline to have carried this figure and still record ever recorded in Europe, with a filling rate which rose 1%, 88% 89% ... "said his spokesman Robin Kiely.
But that record traffic hides another new lower: anticipating a decline in bookings in the months of September, October and November, Ryanair will reduce its offer half a million seats by the end of the year (81 million seats instead of 81.5 million). However, this is not the first time that the Irish low cost reduced capacity: last year she had already grounded 80 of its 300 Boeing B737 during the winter season.
